Over four days at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, we showcased Koshee Protect to the industry, ran live theft detection demos, and walked away with a win in our threat detection category. Here’s a look at how it went.
About ISC West
The International Security Conference & Exposition (ISC West) is the largest and most comprehensive security industry trade show in the United States, held annually at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. The 2026 event ran from March 23–27, drawing nearly 29,000 security professionals and more than 750 exhibiting brands across physical, IT, and IoT security.
Produced in collaboration with the Security Industry Association (SIA), ISC West features a full education program of over 120 sessions led by more than 280 industry experts, alongside product launches, live demonstrations, and networking events that make it the must-attend event for anyone working in security technology.
Showcasing Koshee Protect
Rather than walking through slides, we ran our Theft Detection Model live on the exhibit floor.
We set up four cameras at the booth: two overhead with a clear downward view, and two undermounts positioned to catch what overhead cameras miss. Together, they cover the common concealment behaviors such as: items moved into pockets, slipped under shirts or jackets. Our ability to build and customize models to be environment-specific, allowed us to consistently flag theft in this demonstration.
Live Demos, Real Results
Retail theft detection is one of the harder problems in computer vision: fast movement, occlusion, varied lighting, and a constant stream of different people in frame. Rather than rely on slides or prerecorded footage, we ran live detections throughout the show with real foot traffic passing through the booth.
Integrators and potential clients came by to watch, ask questions, and yes, try to steal a can of soda or bag of chips. Our platform caught every attempt. Live detection on an unpredictable trade show floor is harder than a controlled lab demo, and it was the right test to put in front of the industry.
Award Win and a Timely Talk
Koshee Protect took home a win in the Threat Detection and Response Solutions category by SIA (Security Industry Association) at ISC West 2026. The win reflects what we’ve built toward: detection systems that perform in real-world conditions, not just on benchmarks.
On the same day, our CSO, James Edmonson, PhD, delivered a session on making AI detections work in practice. He covered the history of machine learning, the pitfalls of open-source datasets, and the risks of over-relying on published accuracy scores; themes that are very much at the core of how we build at Koshee.
